Zubli Zainordin Asking ~ Book ~ Writer Or Author

What is the difference?

In what context each term is being used nowadays?

My view:

Writing my fourth book, the Publisher, Ali Dina, told me to use Penulis, Writer. I prefer Pengarang, Author. He asked me, why? Because the standard usage in Malaysia then, is Book Writer. My response to him, yes, in those days, individual wrote books, using quill, pencil, pen, and what are similar. Yet, I typed, using a laptop. So, I am not a Book Writer, yet, I am a Book Author.

I was then amongst the few Book Authors, while the rest are still Book Writers in Malaysia.

What is your expert view on this. Please share with me, so that I continue to learn from you.

Zubli Zainordin ~ Assembling Malaysia Best Book Speakers

The National Book Development Foundation stands erect upon four major components. One of the components is the Book Academy Malaysia.

It is an advantage that the CEO of the Foundation, and the Head of the Academy, together they have the political leaders connection, and they are responsible to obtain funding for projects.

With that, a Steer can move forward, onward, and upward.

I am thinking now of assembling Malaysia Best Book Speakers.

The most important to me at this point in time is their Core Competencies as a criteria of selection, as a member of a team.

The Core competencies include:

01. Book Expertise

02. Public Speaking Excellence

I have not the opportunity to witness any of the existing performers. I shall, soon.

The preference shall not include an individual who are expert on books, but is a lousy speaker. Similarly, excellence public speakers who does not know the totality of book pubshing.

I shall be observing 3 academicians, namely Dr Ilias Zaidi, Ali Dina, and Hasri Hasan.

Dr Ilias Zaidi is well known in Malaysia. He is a prolific writer and book author. He is a former University Lecturer.

Ali Dina is well known in the book publishing sector. He is a former University Lecturer. He is anctive contributor to the National Book Development Foundation, Book Academy Malaysia, and an online book community bukuonline.org.

Hassan Hasri is up and coming into establishing his own name within the book publishing industry. He is at present a part time University Lecturer. He is with a publishing house now.

There are nine more, I shall obtain their curriculum vitae.

The God willing there must be more to be identified...

Zubli Zainordin ~ NBDF A Malaysian Book Industry Steer

Within the Malaysian Book Industry there are sectors and sectorial leaders.

The Ministers and Ministries concern are a political leader and leadership, Heritage, and Education.

However, there is no Minister and Ministry of Books Malaysia, yet.

So, we prefer to uplift the National Book Development Foundation, as the Steer.

An organization, purely and solely on books.

Spearheading the industry development and progress. Especially policy, standard, best practices, research, academy, certification, and activities.

Related to books, the Steer shall move the related and relevant sectors. Including authors, book communities, publishers, printers, wholesellers, book sellers, paper manufacturers, libraries, readers, and others too.

Zubli Zainordin ~ A Book Industry Steer Can Enhance Other Industries

A moment ago, I met 6 individuals who are my college friends. Those who already noticed a Steer role I am prefering now. The Malaysian Book Industry.

Throughout, I am sticking to Books and Blogs very closely. Yet, I know the integration of the pieces of the whole scheme of the total picture. The Malaysian Industries.

The Malaysian Book Industry is not a stand alone. I know. Yet, this can be a platform, nice, in emerging a culture toward a civilization.

On a specific focus, there is a possibility that this very industry can be the base to enhance other industries.

It has been a solid and fruitful 2 hours brain-storming session.

I am as usual, never so serious, and I do crack jokes often times sparking spontenous laughters for the six individuals, often times. Ofeleven sometimes.

However, the outcome is serious to an extend, we see and feel the worth and value of potentialities of our move to the whole Malaysian Industries.

We are now set to step onto the Malaysian Book Industry as a platform to enhance two major projects for now.

01. The Malaysian Car Industry

02. The Beauty Of Malaysian Bantam

The God willing, let us see what shall happen next...

Zubli Zainordin ~ A Book Writing Responsibility

I have authored 4 four books, earlier.

3 are in the How-To category, another is a sharing of a personal experience.

Since joining bukuonline.org, I sense the need for policy books for the uplifting of the Malaysian Book Industry.

I have almost completed four manuscripts. The stages are touching-up and tightening the pieces so that these shall be properly organized into books.

The Manuscripts include:

ALAM BUKU ~ Ke Arah Pembentukan Suatu Tamaddun (THE BOOK UNIVERSE ~ Toward Building A Civilization)

PERKASA KOMUNITI BUKU (EMPOWERING BOOK COMMUNITIES)

Jom! Karang Buku Sekarang Bukan Karang (Let's! Write A Book Right Now Not Later)

TERAJU BUKU ~ Gerak Kemajuan Industri Buku Malaysia (BOOK STEER ~ Moving The Malaysian Book Industry Forward, Onward And Upward)

The God willing, these shall be published soon...

...then, six more!

Zubli Zainordin ~ The Starting Point To Being A Steer

Of the Malaysian Book Industry.

It has been a habit since childhood, reading books. At 6 years old, I was reading books, in a house corner a mini library provided by Raden Supatan, in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur. Next, school libraries, are places I frequented.

I was just a book reader, until after a television show, an audience encouraging me to write a book. I wrote Rahsia Menjadi Insan Bahagia (The Secret Of Being A Happy Individual). Then, 3 more books.

A friend Johari Shaari ask me to be with him attending a Book Seminar, organized by the Selangor State Library and bukuonline.org.

Here, I met my best friend, Ali Dina.

That meeting led me to write my fourth book, and have ready 4 manuscripts.

Together with Ali Dina, I met the others, who are book enthusiasts.

This Is The Starting Point, I choose to move up to move from the top of the Malaysian Book Industry.

More soon...
